In the northern months you fly from Arusha toward the Mara River country, landing at Kogatende or the Lamai strip depending on schedules and the season, a flight of roughly two hours with en-route stops.
A game drive carries you the last stretch into the Lamai Wedge. The airstrip depends on the season, and we confirm the routing when we book your season.
We can also arrange a private charter, a Cessna Caravan or Pilatus PC-12, timed to your day rather than the schedule's. The scheduled aircraft take soft bags of about fifteen kilograms per person, hand luggage included.
Yes. Every position the camp occupies through the year sits below 1,800 metres, and beneath that height the whole of mainland Tanzania is rated high risk for malaria by the UK's official travel health service and by the CDC, so antimalarial tablets are the normal advice for this trip in any month.

For the river, come between June and November, when the camp holds its quiet corner of the Lamai Wedge and the crossings run their July to October peak. For the calving, come in the deep southern months around January to March, when the camp has moved to the far south of the ecosystem and the predators work the newborn herds.
In between there are short spells when the camp is down and travelling, so some weeks simply are not bookable, and we will tell you plainly if yours is one. Wherever it stands, allow three nights or more; the migration pays out to people who give it time.
From four years old, which is younger than almost any serious migration camp accepts, and the reason it works is the private vehicle: with no strangers aboard, a drive can be forty-five bright minutes or a full day, nap included, at nobody's cost but your own.

Yes, and better than a mobile camp has any right to offer: wifi runs in the main areas and reaches the tents, comfortably up to messages, email and photographs. It rides on satellite, so weather can dent it, and streaming is optimistic.
