Two of the four suites stand apart from the main house as garden suites, each with a generous bathroom, an outdoor shower and a terrace of its own, so a couple can disappear for an afternoon without leaving the property. The other two open directly onto the shared living space at the centre of the house, a few steps from the kitchen and the fire. Custom mosquito nets, designed by Beagle & Basset, carry the pattern of the slate walls, so the light coming through them prints the same lines back onto the plaster as the day turns.
Sunrise drives go out across the western grasslands, and breakfast is sometimes laid out on top of Sasakwa Hill while the plains below come into the light. Guided walks cover ground a vehicle cannot reach, and hot air balloons lift off at first light. The drainage lines nearby are good for birding. Guests can also visit an anti-poaching observation post, where the scouts show how they track movement across the reserve and find snares. Between drives there is the pool, the tennis court, the wellness pavilion, and a wine tasting poured by the private chef.

The Grumeti Fund took over management of this stretch of the western corridor in 2003, when illegal hunting, wildfire and invasive vegetation had thinned the game. Buffalo, wildebeest and elephant numbers have climbed steadily since. In 2019 nine Eastern black rhino were brought back to the reserve. The Fund is fiscally independent, supported by guest donations, philanthropists and NGOs, and its ranger patrols work alongside an anti-poaching unit, a canine unit and a human-wildlife conflict programme.
Beyond the wildlife work, the Fund runs a scholarship programme, English immersion camps and an environmental education centre, and it fills the calendar with the Serengeti Girls Run and the Wagora Bike Ride. The Long Run is Singita’s global sustainability partner, working to a framework built around conservation, community, culture and commerce. Visits to the schools or to the anti-poaching post can be arranged as part of a game drive.
