Raised on the fringes of the Serengeti, Nyakiriga’s formative experiences included regular excursions into the bush with his grandfather. His education continued in academic settings; he excelled at Wildlife College in Arusha and soon secured a prestigious role at a top safari camp. In no time, he was sharing his wealth of knowledge with National Geographic photographers and eager tourists alike. His ethos and expertise permeate every aspect of Lolkisale Camp. Elena Danilova offers a contrasting yet complementary background. Raised in the Soviet Union, she lived through its collapse before immigrating to the United States. Here, she carved a niche for herself in the building design and construction industry. Her work is notable for infusing spaces with a sense of warmth and wellbeing, a skill she brings to the layout and design of Lolkisale Camp.
