Magashi Camp, inaugurated in 2019, offers premium accommodation and is situated in the northern sector of Akagera National Park, adjacent to Lake Rwanyakazinga. Operated by the same professionals who manage other prestigious safari camps across Southern and East Africa, such as Bisate in Volcanoes National Park, Magashi adheres to stringent quality standards. Though Magashi leans more toward a classic safari experience, it holds itself to the same elevated criteria as its sister properties.
Akagera National Park is less frequented yet strikingly captivating. The park showcases a variety of terrains including dry savannahs, rolling grasslands, and intricate waterways bordered by papyrus swamps. Safari excursions at Magashi primarily include game drives and boating safaris, guided by experts. The boating safaris offer close encounters with hippos and crocodiles, as well as extensive bird-watching opportunities. Moreover, walking safaris are under consideration, pending regulatory approvals.
