Visiting All of East Africa’s Gorilla Parks
This journey is dedicated entirely to the mountain gorilla, visiting three of the four habitats where they are found today: Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Mgahinga National Park in Uganda, and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Each setting offers its own ecological context, from the volcanic slopes of the Virunga Massif to the dense montane forests of Bwindi. Virunga National Park in the DRC is the fourth site, but current security concerns mean we do not operate there.
The safari balances immersive treks with time at some of the region’s finest lodges. Guests will track gorillas on multiple occasions, complemented by the chance to see golden monkeys and rich Albertine Rift birdlife. Conservation engagement is included through visits to the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project and Conservation Through Public Health. Travel is by private vehicle, light aircraft, and on foot, ensuring comfort while maintaining focus on these remarkable habitats and their resident great apes.
