From Highlands to Plains of East Africa

This journey connects East Africa’s most celebrated landscapes and cultures, beginning in Rwanda and concluding on the shores of Zanzibar. Time in Kigali introduces the city’s history and contemporary identity, followed by days in Volcanoes National Park tracking mountain gorillas in their forest habitat. Guests then fly directly into Tanzania’s Serengeti ecosystem, staying in the private Grumeti Reserve where predator-prey interactions and seasonal wildebeest movements dominate the plains.

From there the safari shifts south to Mwiba Reserve, a mosaic of springs, woodlands, and rocky outcrops. Here, wildlife thrives alongside cultural exchanges, as guests travel with guides into the Yaeda Valley to meet the Hadza, who continue their hunter-gatherer traditions on their own land. Returning to Mwiba, activities range from game drives to fly camping beneath the stars. The journey concludes at Xanadu Villas on Zanzibar, with days of swimming, snorkelling, and exploring Swahili heritage offering rest after the mainland safari.
