Those are the dry spells, when the bush thins, the game concentrates on the rivers and the waterholes, and the red dust is at its most photogenic. June to October is the longer and more reliable window.
January and February are hot, dry and quieter.
Tsavo is big and thick, so the dry months make a real difference here, more than in the open Mara.
April and May, yes, and November to a lesser extent.
The long rains bring high grass and heavy tracks, and the game spreads across a park large enough to lose it in. Some tracks in Tsavo East become impassable.
The short rains in November fall in afternoon bursts and clear, and the country greens up beautifully.

The parks sit low and dry, so days regularly run into the mid thirties and the middle of the day is for the shade and a pool. Nights are mild rather than cold.
January to March is the hottest stretch, with June and July the most comfortable.
