Pack light, breathable, neutral clothes, a hat, sun protection and far more water than you think.
The whole of the short season, and the earlier months are the most comfortable.
July and August give cooler mornings and easier walking; September and October give better game and harder heat. The ground is firm throughout.
Walking is the main activity here rather than an extra, so the choice matters.

The early part of the season, and the miombo specials are the draw.
Miombo woodland holds a long list of birds found in few other places, and the river adds the waterbirds. The wet months would be best for breeding activity, and the camp is closed then.
July and August are the most productive of the months you can actually visit.

August to October, when all three are at their peak.
The dry season concentrates Katavi's hippo and buffalo, brings Mahale's chimpanzees down the slopes and opens Ugalla, so a single set of dates carries the whole of western Tanzania.
Outside that window most of the camps across all three are closed.
We would allow nine or ten nights for the three together and treat it as a trip in its own right.
