Furthermore, Virunga Lodge’s proximity to the park strikes a balance. It’s distant from bustling tourist spots, ensuring privacy and seclusion. Yet, it must be addressed that the travelling time to the meeting point for gorilla trekking is approximately 45 minutes, which whilst not excessive, is much longer than would otherwise be found at other lodges closer to the park entrance.
