Group journey
Gabon: Forest Primates of West Africa
Gabon is a truly wonderful country, utterly unique in so many ways and owing its relatively untouched wilderness areas to the extreme wealth that has been generated by the oil industry. The success of which has left the wild interior free from exploitation, a rare luxury these days, sadly.
The itinerary is varied, by design, taking time to visit the rain forests and waterways of Loango where we will track the lowland gorillas twice, and the savannah and mountains of Lope National Park. During our time in Lope National Park, we will join the researchers monitoring the local mandrill population, tracking them with radio collars and spending time among them in the forest.
